Images and Words : Old Buildings

The Mahmutbey Mosque in Daday - Kastamonu - Turkey was built in the 14th century . The mosque was mainly built by wood with specal thecniques of fixing and overlapping without using any nails . Turkey having faults causing earthquakes there are two wooden colombs that rotate 360 degress even today which means the mosque wasnt effected from the earhquakes it faced

  6. That is a truely lovely photo Fatos and built with wooden nails is really going way back into the past. I have noticed that method lasts a very long time.
